In view of the legal provision all foreign nationals of Indian origin applying forIndian visa for the first time after acquiring foreign nationality are required to first renounce/surrender their Indian passport and obtain Surrender Certificate. For those Persons of Indian origin who have travelled to India before need to provide copy of their earlier Indian Visa/Old UK passport (if applying on new UK Passport) issued by the High Commission. Please note that the validity of a visa starts from the date of issue and not the date of travel.

The India Visa Application Centre is officially authorised by the High Commission of India, London.

The visa applications will be accepted at India Visa Application Centres as per the county jurisdictions specified by the High Commission /Consulates. All applications will be assessed and adjudicated by the visa officers at the High Commission of India, London, and the Consulate General of India in Birmingham and Edinburgh in accordance with the Government of India-visa/immigration policy.

All visa applicants must be present in the UK on the date of filing the application and their passports should be valid for minimum 190 days. Applicants are solely responsible for the applications they submit. Any false documents or other misrepresentation of information in support of their application will have a direct bearing on the judgment of their application by the High Commission of India and its Consulate General in the UK.
