Document Checklist
Business Visa:

Passport valid for a minimum of 180 days with at least two blank pages.
Correct visa fee.
Two recent 50 mm * 50 mm size photographs. Please check the Photo Specification
Filled application form (all the columns of the form are mandatory and must be filled).
An original signed letter from the company in UK explaining the nature of business and duration of visit.
A signed Letter of invitation from an Indian company on their official company letter head clearly stating the purpose and duration for which visa is requested.

Important Information: The business letters should be provided on the letter head of the company with applicants name and passport details (Passport number, Issue date and Expiry date) and addressed to High Commission of India and its respective Consulates.

Important Note: Applicants are requested to submit/send the photocopies of the supporting documents (not the originals) unless originals are requested.

For Person whose previous nationality was Indian before acquiring foreign nationality

Photocopy of the Surrender Certificate of the Indian Passport OR
lf travelled to India before, please provide your  previous Passport with Indian Visa.

Documents required for Urgent Business Visa

In addition to the above documents, below listed documents are required.

Letter from the parent sponsoring organisation in UK on company's letter head indicating the nature of the applicant's business, reasons for Urgent Business Visa, probable duration of stay, validity of visa applied for, places and organisation to be visited and a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses.
Letter from the sponsoring organization in India on company letterhead indicating the nature of applicant's business, reasons for Urgent Business Visa, probable duration of stay, validity of visa applied for, places and organisation to be visited and a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses.
Two years residence proof in UK (i.e. utility bill-water, gas, electricity, council tax or Indefinite stay stamp or Agreement papers if staying as tenant] in the case of applicants applying on their country of Origin Passport

Please Note: Since reference are required to be made to concerned authorities in respect of Non- UK residents for less than 2 years and Pakistani nationals/Pakistani origin applicants, this facility of same day Urgent Visa is not available to them. They may apply in normal course.

VISA APPLYING
PROCESS


Step 1
Click, “All About Visas”. Confirm the visa type based on your reason for travel; do not make any confirmed bookings.

Step 2
Complete your application online. Please note that on and after 23rd November 2010, no previous versions or handwritten forms will be available on the website or accepted at any of the India Visa Application Centers.

Step 3
If the application has been completed online you must download & print all form/s, read and complete Checklist.

Step 4
Check fees payable, payment options and documents required. All such details can be found in the respective visa categories under the section All About Your Visas.

Step 5
Sign form/s at all indicated places.

Step 6
Ensure photos are strictly as per New Photo Specifications

Step 7
Check processing time to plan your travel accordingly.

Step 8
Attach all supporting documents required as per the Checklist. Make sure your application is complete. Incomplete applications cannot be accepted.

Step 9
Submit your Application along with the passport and required documents at any of our India Visa Application centres in UK by person to the respective Jurisdiction or by post to our centralised postal processing centre. Postal applications need a minimum of 10 working days to be processed. This does not include the period they are in transit to and from the High Commission or the Consulate General.

Your passport will be returned to you by the mode of delivery opted by you when submitted. Allow for 2-3 days transit time for postal or courier return applications. Transit times differ by location and do not take into account any public holidays.
