Employment Visa
An Employment Visa is granted to those who are an employee of an Indian company / or those who intend to do honorary work (without salary) with Registered NGOs in India. The Embassy/Consulate may grant Employment visa valid for a limited validity irrespective of the duration of the contract. Further extension up to 5 years could be obtained from MHA / FRRO in the concerned state in India. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue.The duration of the visa is at the sole discretion of the Issuing Authority. All visa fees once paid are non-refundable irrespective of the outcome of the visa application and duration granted.

Dual Nationality Citizens
Applicants other than Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan Passport Holders are required to apply on their British Passport.
Applicants from above countries are requested to apply on the passport of the country of origin if they are holding/ residing in UK on that Passport.
 
 
Non-UK Nationals and Extension of Employment Visa
A Non- UK national who has been a resident of the UK for less than Two years should apply from the Country of Origin.
Extension of Employment Visa can only be done by the FRRO in India in the city where employed. High Commission of India and its consulates in the UK will not accept any applications for renewal of the Employment Visa

Renunciation/Surrender of Indian Passports
Under the Indian law, people of Indian origin, who have acquired foreign nationality, are required to surrender their Indian passport (nationality) to the High Commission of India in London or at the respective Indian consulates at Birmingham and Edinburgh before submitting their visa applications.
